How to Setup Classlist in Notebook

1.             Close out all Applications before creating the Clicker Assessment
2.             Click Finder, then Applications, SMART Response, SMART Response Setup Tools
3.             Go back to the Finder list and Click on SMART Notebook, Then Notebook


4.              Launch Notebook from the Doc   
    
5.             Inside Notebook – Click on the  “yellow” Response Icon  
6.             From the Toolbar click Response -  


From the dropdown menu choose Teacher Tools
7.             Setup your Gradebook Information

  

Adding Class Information
8.              Now, Setup your Class Information.  Simply, fill in the requested information. Change the Passing Grade (Threshold) to at least 70%.  To better manage assessments setup each Core separately.   Note: The Class Name is there for elementary teachers that teach different subjects.  
9.              Each class will appear under Gradebook to the left of the screen.  Use the Add a  Class Tab under Gradebook to add additional cases.



Adding Students and Importing Students from Classlist
Students can be added one at a time or in groups of 40 or less


Manually Adding Students
10.           To add your class manually Click the Green Add button in the top left corner of the toolbar.  This is also the best way to add “new” students to your Response Classlists. 





Add each student enrolled in your class.  As new students come in during the school year.  Add those students manually.  You're done and ready to set up an assessment!

Importing Students from a Classlist in Excel

11.           To import students from a Classlist  or Excel file the student information must be in specific format: Headers - Last Name, First Name, Student ID. To import a Classlist from ClassScape Click Manage Classes in ClassScape, copy and paste each Classlist separately into separate Excel files.  Manipulate each Excel file to reflect only Last Name, First Name, and Student ID.  (Reminder: The platforms do not exactly sync.  This means the data will not be listed and made available for evaluation as basic ClassScape reports are generated)
