singer Lady Gaga and rapper Eminem are the main attractions of the first YouTube Music Awards, the video site reported on Tuesday.

ceremony November 3 in New York, which will be broadcast live, honors the songs and artists most viewed on the site last year.

The nominees will be announced later this month, and public voting will determine the winners, YouTube said.

Canadian rock band Arcade Fire will also play at the awards, which will be presented by actor and musician Jason Schwartzman and director Spike Jonze films and videos will be the creative director, said the Internet channel.

YouTube has become crucial for musicians to share their work in recent years and also helped launch the careers of artists like Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen and South Korean pop star Psy.
