Real Time Learning

Recently, my school acquired one classroom set of iPads and a classroom set of iPods.  At first, the excitement of just having the new devices created the biggest buzz.  After weeks of exploring and sending the devices from one classroom to another I discovered that the educational applications were not being utilized.  What I found was that many of the teachers were using the devices to surf the Internet.  This is what sent me on my adventure to create lessons with the teachers that you pull resources from the iPods and iPads.

My first stop visit was with the Instructional Coach to find out what applications might best prepare students to score better on the End of Grade testing.  Next, I spoke with teachers on a grade level basis in the Professional Learning Teams (PLTs).  Finally, I sat down with teachers to create lessons that would integrate the iPods and/or iPads into their lessons.  After weeks of collaborating, co-teaching and integrating lessons we came up with a few meaningful lessons.  The point of this blog is to add to the list and share ideas for the use of iPads and iPods in the classroom.
