A rare solar eclipse can be followed in some states in the North and Northeast of Brazil and parts of Africa, Europe and the United States on Sunday, when the moon had covered the sun partially or totally, depending on the observer’s location. This should be the last solar eclipse of 2013, and can be seen in the country in the morning, between 9am and 11am (GMT).

In Gabon, West Africa, the total eclipse can be seen. At the peak of the phenomenon on Earth, in the central African country, around 11:50 Brasilia, the sun will be hidden for a minute or so. The solar eclipse will last for ten seconds in northern Kenya.

If weather conditions permit, the partial phases of the eclipse can be observed in southern Europe, including some parts of Spain, Italy and Greece.
