How To Unlock Samsung Galaxy Phone With Forgotten Password or Pattern

Posted by Unknown Senin, 02 Desember 2013 0 komentar
Have you ever been locked out of your Samsung Galaxy Phone because you forgot the password or the unlock pattern?

Usually this happens if you just bought a new smartphone and you put a password or unlock pattern that is hard to remember forgetting that you can also fall victim of your own since we are all humans.

Well, in other to gain access to your Android phone once more, there are few things that needs to be done. We will put up two scenarios, one involving you having a Google account already setup on the device and the other when you have not registered a Google Account on the device.

Scenario One: Password or Lock Patter forgotten with no Google Account On the phone
On this scenario, the device is still very new, you setup device without registering a Google account. You decided to create a passwords or pattern that you now forgot.

Well, the only way to get through the unlock screen is to reset the phone. This will wipe out everything. Entering numbers like *2767*3855# or *2767*2878# may not help you.

What you should do is, remove both your SIM card and memory, once you have done this, power off the device. Now press and hold Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button together simultaneously until you enter the recovery section.

In this section, you will see various options. All you need to do is scroll to the one that says "Wipe data/Factory Reset". You would use the Volume buttons to scroll up or down and then select the menu with the power button. Next scroll to the 'Yes' part and then select with the power button. After few seconds, your phone will successfully reset and then you will scroll up again and select 'Reboot phone' option at the top of the menu.

Voila, you would have access to your phone again.

Scenario Two" Password or Lock Pattern forgotten but Google Account is already setup
In this case you were perhaps already using your phone. Hopefully contacts, messages etc are already backed up on Google servers and or stored on memory card.

Now if you enter your unlock pattern wrongly about 5 times, it would ask you if you forgot your unlock pattern. If you click yes, you would be prompted to put in your Gmail ID and password. Now all you have to do is enter your Gmail credentials and you should be in.

If all fails, then you have to revert to the process in scenario one to reset and fix the issue.

I hope this little bit of information helps someone out there.

Airtel Disables BIS For Non BlackBerry Phones

Posted by Unknown Minggu, 01 Desember 2013 0 komentar
Airtel have decided that come 3rd of December 2013, Airtel BIS packages will stop functioning on non BlackBerry phones.

The original message from Airtel sent as a SMS reads thus:

Airtel: Dear Customer, effective 3rd Dec 2013  AIRTEL BB Plans will cease to function on non BB devices or used as a modem . Thank you.

This means that if you have an Android phone, iPhone, iPad, Nokia phones, tablets and so on and you subscribe to the Airtel BIS plans to browse on these devices, your Internet won't be activated.

Also, we do not know if hotspot may be deactivated just like Etisalat did with their BIS package.

This is not a very encouraging or good news at all seeing how affordable the BIS plan have been for BlackBerry smartphone and how ripped off it has been for other non BlackBerry smartphones.

Only BlackBerry smartphone will work with the BIS packages. Not cool.

Please be wise and do not subscribe to this BIS packages on your non BlackBerry phone so as not to risk losing your cash.

If there's a work around to bypass this restrictions, we shall put it on this blog site.

However, on a mumu scale of 1 - 10 where do you place this decision by Airtel? Let's hear it.

Tecno M5 Hands On Detailed Review

Posted by Unknown Kamis, 28 November 2013 0 komentar
TECNO M5 is the latest addition to the "M" series of medium end smartphone. Its one of the smartphones that a lot of people have been waiting for and finally it dropped last week.

Well, we have had the opportunity to lay our hands on one, both black and white colour and we will be giving you a good hands on review of what we saw after the break.
Dimensions, Weight and Contents
TECNO M5 is a medium range phone with dimensions 135.6 x 68.3 x 10.5 mm which makes it a very handy and as slim as the M7. It has a fairly curve body which helps in giving a nice grip when holding the phone. The M5 is weighing almost the same as the M7.
On first buy, you get a flip case and the contents in the pack are battery, charging kit, earpiece and manuals.

As usual, the volume keys are at the top left side of the phone while the power button is situated at the opposite side of the Volume keys. Loud speaker is situated at the bottom back side of the phone with a small aperture to convey its sounds.

At the top of the device, you would find the USB port and a 3.5mm earphone port with a small distance apart. Furthermore, the back side of the phone is carry a 8MP camera with the powerful flashlight just immediately below the camera for a night time shot.

SIM and Network
TECNO M5 is a dual SIM smartphone with both SIMs at standby just like its predecessors before it. It uses normal macro SIMs which can be inserted into  the phone by opening the battery cover to reveal the SIM compartments and also the 8GB installed memory card.

Network Bands are GSM900/DCS1800/WCDMA2100 and can transfer data with the 3.75G network since its a 3G supported smartphone.

SIM 1 can connect using the 3G/2G network while the SIM 2 is allowed to connect using 2G network alone.
Camera, Display and Resolution
TECNO M5 is spotting a 8.0MP back camera and a 1.3MP front camera capable of taking very nice shots. Also at night, good quality pictures can be taken with the help of the flash light located just below the camera. One thing though is that sometimes, the flashlight light get picked up by the lens and therefore in bright day, the image can appear brighter than normal.

Once those beautiful pictures are taken on the TECNO M5, they can be viewed on the display with good clarity, thanks for the resolution of the device which is 480 x 854. The resolution is further help by the fact that the screen is a 4.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display.
The front camera is good for video calls and Skype calls even though its just 1.3MP

Operating System and Processor
TECNO M5 comes with Jelly Bean 4.2 android which is then powered by 1.3GHz dual - core Mediatek processor.
For a medium end phone one could say that the processor speed and type is fairly good and should handle things well.

Memory and RAM
TECNO M5 comes with an internal memory of 4GB and an 8GB SD card pre-installed into the memory slot. The phone can support up to 32GB memory if you are so keen to increase the memory space. This is obviously one of the things that would appeal to a lot of people; that is, being able to increase memory space of their device.

Furthermore, TECNO M5 comes with a 1GB RAM to keep everyone happy. 1GB RAM is good enough to handle things well, besides, its a medium end smartphone.

Battery and Performance
TECNO M5 comes witha 1800mAh removable battery that can last you for hours when using the device. Another plus is that its removable which will of course appeal to a lot of folks out there.

Sensors and Connectivity
TECNO M5 has Gyro, Light and Proximity sensors, which are the norm in most smartphones today. Also, Bluetooth 4.0, AGPS, GPS, WiFi and WiFi Hotspot are connectivity features of this device. No NFC chip though.
Price Tag
Price tag for the TECNO M5 starts at N23,000 for most of the stores that I have seen (Divine Anyi Communications, you can order yours by calling the number: 08060791362).
However, there are words that Tecno is offering it for N18,000. Am yet to see anyone buy for that price though.
Pre-Installed Apps
By default, Whatsapp, YouTube, Gmail, Facebook, Calendar and Flashshare are pre-installed into the phone. Other applications like Google+ etc are also included but not installed.
Other features include FM Radio, documents viewer, SNS integration, popular audio and video codecs are supported.

What We Think
We think the Tecno M5 make a pretty good medium end phone. The specifications are well balanced and well suited to the tasks its suppose to perform.

However, on the price tag side of things, we expected a more reduced price than what is being offered out there.
Tecno M7 is still very new and the M5 is almost at par with the price tag of the M7.

Aside this, its believed that M5 isn't too bad a device and those that would want a piece of it can get it and should love it.

What are your thoughts regarding the Tecno M5? lets hear it

How To Free Up Internal Memory Space On Android Phone

Posted by Unknown Rabu, 27 November 2013 0 komentar
Is your Android phone internal memory space running low? Don't worry, there is a fix for it and its pretty easy.

Having experienced it myself, I looked for solutions to it and I got a few tricks that works.

The steps to fix this issue are highlighted below.

1. One of the ways to free up space is to move apps to SD card.  You can do this in the simplest way or in a more cumbersome way.

The simple way is to download App2SD (App Mgr III) app on Google Play Store (it needs your phone to be rooted for it to work).
Once installed, it will show you various apps installed on your phone internal storage and SD card storage. It will also show lists of apps that can be moved to SD card, those that can't be moved and the percentages of free space left on both memory types as indicated in the images below.

Now all you have to do is tap on any apps listed in the "Movable" section and move these apps that are movable to your SD card. This will free up space on your internal memory.

The cumbersome way which would bring you finally to the place to move apps to your choice storage is to go to Settings/Apps, click on individual app to see if you can move it to SD card. If you can move to SD card, just tap on Move to SD storage or Phone Storage as applied to your device.

Its cumbersome because you have to check each app one after the other to know if its movable or not. If its not movable, it would be greyed out and you won't be able to click on "Move to Phone Storage" button.

2. Another thing that eats internal memory space is apps cache, especially those apps that aren't movable to SD card, high volume SMS messages, voluminous call logs and browser history and caches.

To fix this, just download an app called 1 Tap Cleaner (free in Google Play Store). Once it's downloaded, launch and click on History. This would bring up a window which you can then clear history etc.

You can do same for Call log/text message or just click on Clear All to allow the app automatically work its magic. Once this is done, you would notice a sizable space on your internal memory.

3. Finally, we are all in the habit of installing apps that we hardly use or don't use at all.
Try and uninstall apps you don't need, especially those apps in internal memory alone.

Now assuming you have done all the steps above, you should have some space on your internal memory. But, if you still have serious issues on your phone internal memory, your final step is to reset the phone. This would return the phone to factory settings so that all the junks clogging the internal memory are wiped out.
Ideally, only the internal memory files would be removed, all SD files will remain.

In other to reset, go to Settings, scroll down and click on Backup & Reset and then click on Factory data reset, finally, click on Reset phone.

Once the device is reset, you phone will reboot and be as new.

Nokia Lumia 525: New, Beautiful and More Memory

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

Nokia has taken the wraps off their Lumia 525 smartphone which is the successor to the Lumia 520 budget smartphone.

Lumia 520 was common for those with budget concerns but lacked somethings: bigger RAM to run apps

Well, Lumia 525 comes to correct the RAM issue. Lumia 525 comes with 1GB RAM instead of the 512MB RAM seen in the 520.

Aside this new bump in RAM, everything else is pretty much the same. The camera is still 5MP without flash, screen display is 4 inch, dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor still running inside the Lumia 525.

The price should also be the same too though so that those willing to leave the Lumia 520 for 525 will have even more reasons to do so.

As of this writing, there is no word on release date but we believe it should be soon enough in this year and in Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific according to the website.

Huawei Octa Core Smartphone Specs

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 26 November 2013 0 komentar
Huawei is doing fairly well in the smartphone industry. One of the highly laudable smartphones that was warmly received was the Huawei Ascend P6 that was very light and thing with great specs and features.

Even though Huawei's mate 2 is a pretty good device, it wasn't as good and popular as the P6.

But, the Huawei Glory 4 may be another stunner smartphone that will surely impress most.

The leak came today and the specs we saw are not bad.

First, it will feature an octa-core Mediatek MT6592 1.5GHz processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory.
Furthermore, it will have 13MP rear camera, 720p display capacity and expected Emotion 2.0 UI.

Finally, Huawei Glory 4 is rumored to run Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and expected to land in stores early January 2014
